Morocco's Premier Surf Village

Tamraght is a small Berber fishing village perched on the Atlantic cliffs 15 km north of Agadir, wedged between its more famous neighbour Taghazout to the north and the city of Agadir to the south. Despite its tiny size, Tamraght has developed a devoted international surf community, drawn by the consistent right-hand point breaks of Banana Point and the village's relaxed, authentic atmosphere.

Unlike Taghazout which has grown rapidly, Tamraght retains much of its original character — small guesthouses, surf school rooftops, cats on doorsteps and the smell of tagine from every alley. It's the kind of place where surfers come for a week and stay for a month.

From Essaouira, Tamraght is a straightforward 175 km drive south. Our vehicles have space for surfboards, wetsuits and luggage — just let us know when booking if you're travelling with boards.

Banana Point

The main break at Tamraght — a right-hand point break that works best with a north-west swell and offshore wind. Intermediate to advanced surfers. Gets busy in peak season but rarely crowded by European standards.

Taghazout Bay

Just 3 km north of Tamraght, Taghazout offers several breaks including Anchor Point, one of Morocco's most celebrated right-handers. A consistent swell catcher with a long ride on good days.

Sidi Kaouki

If you're travelling from Essaouira, consider a stop at Sidi Kaouki (70 km north of Tamraght). This windswept beach is perfect for kitesurfing and windsurfing, with consistent Atlantic winds year-round.
