Africa's Surf Capital – 20 km North of Agadir
Taghazout is a small Berber fishing village 20 km north of Agadir that has grown into one of Africa's premier surf destinations. Breaks like Hash Point, Anchor Point, Killer Point, La Source and Mysteries draw surfers from across Europe and beyond, particularly from October to April when the Atlantic swells peak and the water temperature sits between 18-22°C.
The village retains much of its original character — colourful fishing boats, argan oil sellers at roadside stalls, rooftop cafés looking out over the Atlantic, and the relaxed pace of a community that spent centuries fishing before the surfers arrived. The modern Taghazout Bay resort development has added luxury hotels, a golf course and beachside restaurants north of the original village, making Taghazout now a destination for non-surfers too.
Just north of Taghazout, Imsouane (65 km) is famous for hosting the world's longest right-hand wave — up to 800 metres in ideal conditions. It makes a perfect day trip or surf-camp base for those looking to escape Taghazout's increasingly busy breaks. South of Taghazout, Tamraght offers beginner-friendly beach breaks and a growing surf school scene.
Our vehicles can transport surfboards, longboards and all your gear at no extra charge. We also offer half-day and full-day driver options for surf spot-hopping between Taghazout, Imsouane, Tamraght and the nearby argan forests.
