Sidi Kaouki is a remote surf and kitesurf village on the Atlantic coast, 25 km south of Essaouira. Its vast, wind-swept beach stretches for kilometres with barely a soul in sight — a world away from the tourist trail. Named after its small marabout shrine visible from the beach, the village clusters around a handful of atmospheric riads, surf camps and beachside cafés.

The consistent Atlantic winds make Sidi Kaouki one of Morocco's premier destinations for kitesurfing and windsurfing year-round. The beach also attracts yoga retreats and wellness tourism thanks to its isolation and dramatic natural setting. For swimmers and bodysurfers the powerful Atlantic waves demand respect, but the coastline rewards visitors who come prepared.

The village has no public transport links — private taxi is the only practical way to arrive and depart. Our drivers know the coastal piste tracks and can reach any riad or camp in the area.
